Scarlett Johansson was born on the 22nd of November 1984 in New York City. She
comes from a long line of creative artists. Her mother worked as a producer and
her grandfather worked as a screenwriter and director. At an early age,
Scarlett had an interest in acting. When she was 8 years old, she appeared in
an off-Broadway production of Sophistry with Ethan Hawke. Scarlett had kept
seeking out different roles and she decided to study at Manhattan’s
Professional Children’s School (PCS), which is a private educational
institution where most famous actors have studied in like Rita Moreno and
Carrie Fisher. Her passion was for musical theatre which she was able to pursue
at PCS. Throughout her school years, she got many acting roles including a film
debut in 1994’s North with Elijah Wood. She got a leading part
after two year in Manny & Lo and
her twin brother Hunter also had an appearance in the film. She kept getting
roles and won over many fans including the director and film’s star, Redford.
