Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone was born on the 5th of January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. However, her family moved to Bangalore, India when she was 11 months old. She is a Indian actress and model. She is the daughter of a badminton Champion Prakash Padukone and her mother is a travel agent. She has a younger sister called Anisha. She played state level badminton till the 10th standard. However, she was not keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player.  She has had many modelling offers including brand ambassadorship of Jewels of India, jewellery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her the new international cover girl face. After the 5th annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards for Indian models and designers, she was awarded the title of Model of the Year. A little while after that, she was chosen for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006. in 2006, she made her cinematic debut alongside Aishwarya. The next year she made a successful Bollywood debut with Farah Khan’s film Om Shanti Om starring with Shah Rukh Khan. She also got 2 trophies at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006, for Female Model of the Year and Fresh Face of the Year. She is currently dating Ranbir Kapoor and the couple have decided to get married
