Rita Sahatciu Ora was born on the 26th November 1990, in Pristina, Yugoslavia.
Rita started singing at the age of 14, and she started off her career by
appearing in s British film called
‘Spivs’. In 2007, Ora
featured Craig David’s track ‘Awkward’, she repeated it the next year in
David’s ‘Where’s your love’ . Even though she had recorded and featured with
him she still hadn’t got her big break. She auditioned for BBC One’s
‘Eurovision’ for England in 2009 but she quit after a few episodes. Rita sang
around everywhere like in bars around London, this increased her local
popularity. A talent scouter told Roc Nation about her, and they flew her to
New York to meet Jay-Z. In 2009, she met Jay-Z and was signed to the label. She
spent the following years with the best people in the industry to make her
first album. She tried to increase her popularity by releasing viral videos of
her making the album. In 2012, Rita released her first single ‘How we do
(Party)’. The single was quickly overshadowed by the second single ‘R.I.P’
featuring Tinie Tempah. It
had debuted at number one on the UK singles charts.
