George Shelley

George Shelley was born on the 27th of July 1993 in Bristol, England. He is a member of the 4 piece boy band, Union J. he has 5 brother, a younger sister and 2 step-sisters. He started singing at the age of 9. However, he took singing more seriously at the age of 13 and even taught himself the guitar with the help of his granddad. He was inspired by his family who are told to be very musical. His celebrity inspirations are people like Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber. He auditioned for The X Factor as a solo artist and did not make it through to boot camp. A fellow contestant called Rough Copy was unable to participate and he was called back for the Judges houses along with his band mates (they weren't a band at the time). They were all given a second chance. He then went on to meet 3 boys who ended up being his band mates and even best friends. Louis Walsh decided that they were one of his final three and sent them through to live shows. They came 4th in The X Factor 2012 and they got a record deal with RCA. Union J released their first single called “Carry You” in 2013, which was a hug hit for them.
